The number of children with an EHCP has more than doubled since 2016 and keeps climbing. The government's “Every Child Achieving and Thriving” white paper sets out a generational response: more children on plans, in a digital format, with schools showing inclusion is working. It's proposed, not yet law, so there's no rush to buy anything. But the schools building the evidence now will be the ones ready when it arrives.
Plans are going digital
The reforms propose a digital Individual Support Plan for every child with identified SEND: “interactive, accessible and available in a digital format”. That is already more than one in five pupils, up from the 6% who hold an EHCP today. A spreadsheet won't carry that.
Inclusion has to be shown
Schools would publish an annual Inclusion Strategy, a forward-facing plan for how provision works, with Ofsted looking at how it lands. The question inspectors ask: can you show it?
There's time, use it well
No changes to existing plans before 2030, and it all rests on the Education for All Bill passing first. Starting now isn't about compliance; it's the good practice inspectors will hold up as the example.

Your school stays the data controller. We're your processor, and we'll sign a UK GDPR data processing agreement to put that in writing.
